About Us

Michael Ojujoh, Founder & President

Established in 2014, BridgetheGap Ministries became a tax-exempt nonprofit organization in 2018. After the effects of COVID-19 BridgetheGap branched off in 2022 to launch  BridgetheGap Outreach Center, its flagship organization that serves as the vehicle to meeting the need gaps in the communities of Suffolk, Western Tidewater, and the broader Hampton Roads region.

BridgetheGap Outreach Center partners with and is supported by individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and agencies to secure tangible goods to distribute to the less fortunate, "free" of charge.

"Goods for the Greater Good"

We are supported through pledges, donations,  sponsorships and volunteers.   Our goal is to bridge-the-gap with other nonprofit organizations who serve communities throughout the city of Suffolk and the Western Tidewater region.

Jennifer Branham,

Co-Founder & Executive Director

Jennifer has history, knowledge and experience in nonprofit management, to include oversight, organization and grant writing skills.  Her 30+ year employment history consists of positions in both public and private nonprofit organizations. She holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology and continued education credits in Business Administration with a certification in Nonprofit Management. Having work with low income and marginalized populations, she experienced first-hand the effects of poverty in urban and rural communities of Hampton Roads and Western Tidewater regions of Virginia. During the unprecedented times of COVID, she eye-witnessed accounts of housing disparities, food insecurities and the lack of basic everyday essentials,. it became her desire to do more for those who could not do for themselves.

Several times, she volunteered to collect toiletries, food and water to distribute to the less fortunate. This desire grew as she partnered with the Founder of BridgetheGap Ministries, who shared the same desire. As they worked together, they learned of a project to obtain donated Amazon pallets filled with returned goods that are used to distribute in populations where most needed. They met with the board of directors in September 2021, and by October they signed a lease for a 4,700 square foot warehouse. Since March 2022, Jennifer's goal is to serve as many families as humanly possible in the city of Suffolk.
